National Rugby Award for Health Academy

The RFL have presented Manchester Health Academy with an “Embed the Pathway” award in recognition of the work of the PE staff and Academy students. This means that the Academy has become an England Rugby League Player Profile Development School and our most talented performers will be tracked and monitored over the next 5 years, with the possibility of gaining professional contracts.

PE staff attended Continuing Professional Development training and have built structured formal links with Salford Red Devils and Manchester Rangers. Over the last year, ten boys have represented Manchester in Rugby League, and the Year 8 boys team has qualified for the Regional Final in March 2017 at the AJ Bell stadium.

Head of PE Mr Brown, said “I am pleased with this award and hope this ongoing support from the RFL will enable some of our most talented performers to reach their potential and make a career in the sport”.
