Furthermore we have students representing Manchester Schools, Lancashire and National Level. We also have a number of students who play for Professional clubs including Everton, Manchester City, Bolton Wanderers, Sheffield Wednesday, Blackburn Rovers and Oldham Athletic. Some of these students are on scholarships and are all part of the gifted and talented programme.
The department are very proud of their strong club links such as Manchester United Foundation, Lawn Tennis Association, Sale Sharks Rugby Union, Salford Red Devils Rugby League, Sale Harriers Athletics and Manchester Giants Basketball. This ensures that the students are exposed to top, professional sports coaching and receive the necessary support to develop their knowledge, understanding, skills and techniques with their chosen sports of interest.
The BTEC Sport students in Key Stage 4 and 6th form have completed their Sports Leaders award and many have completed refereeing awards and FA coaching awards. These students have co-ordinated Primary school festivals and tournaments. The students have also managed the Year 7 sports teams and refereed the games.
