MHA’s PE Department has been awarded the School Games Gold Mark for the third consecutive year, a fantastic achievement that ranks the school in the top 20% of schools nationally.
The School Games Mark is a government led awards scheme launched in 2012 to reward schools for their commitment to the development of competition across their school and into the community. Participating in this process allows schools to evaluate their PE provision and assists them in developing an action plan for future progress.
We value sports education highly, and our students benefit from fantastic sports facilities. We are currently undertaking a £1.2 million overhaul of our Community Sports Facilities.
Head of PE, Mr Brown, said “I’m really proud of my team, who work very hard to keep games fresh and exciting for our students. We continually look for ways to engage more students in games as we strongly believe that physical activity and the joy of playing sporting games contributes to both physical and mental health.”
