Manchester Health Academy had a day of healthy fun and activities yesterday, at one of its two annual Health Days.
Students were taken off timetable to take part in a wide variety of workshops and activities, including wheelchair rugby, bubble football, archery, cycling and climbing. There were also session on mindfulness, cyber bullying and lifeskills.
Students thoroughly enjoyed the day, commenting:
“I enjoyed the Bikeright cycling session” (Year 7 student)
“I learnt how to stay happy in Mindfulness” (Year 7 student)
“Yoga helped me calm down” (Year 7 student)
“There were good options to choose from, a good mixture of activities” (Year 7 student)
“I thought it was a really good day. Everybody had a good time, and it certainly put a smile on my face. A great way to get into the Christmas spirit” (Year 11 student).
Organisers Mrs Walker and Mr Dennis said “Our winter Health Day provides a fantastic opportunity for students to try new activities, learn new things and focus on their physical and mental wellbeing, which is a real priority at Manchester Heath Academy. We’d like to thank all the session leaders, both those who came in specially and our Academy colleagues for making the day a great success, and to all the students who participated with so much enthusiasm.”
