We are delighted to announce that the winner of the first ever MFT School Excellence Award is our Safeguarding Officer, Mrs Maguire. Mrs Maguire is the Academy’s super hero – unfazed by the most challenging of circumstances and always approachable, she works tirelessly to keep students safe and well. The Award is given to a member of staff at the Academy who makes an outstanding contribution to the lives of our students, and Mrs Maguire certainly fits the bill.
Mrs Maguire received her award at the MFT Excellence Awards ceremony on Friday night, which was hosted by Kathy Cowell OBE DL, the Chairman of Manchester Health Academy’s lead sponsor, Manchester University NHS Foundation Trust, and television presenter Andy Crane, at the Principal Hotel in Manchester.
Nominated by colleagues across the Academy, this year’s shortlisted staff were Student Support Officer, Mrs Gill; Receptionist, Mrs Turner; Curriculum Leader of Global Education Ms Mullen, alongside Mrs Maguire. Academy Principal, Mr Green, said “All were worthy finalists and I congratulate each of them for this achievement. It was a fabulous evening and all four finalists received a genuine and warm reception from hundreds of MFT NHS staff in attendance.”
Manchester Health Academy’s lead sponsor, Manchester University NHS Foundation Trust hold an annual awards evening to celebrate the work and dedication of colleagues in all of its trust-wide hospital provision.
