British Science Week is an opportunity for us to focus on all things science. We are fortunate at the Academy to have wonderful science labs where our students can learn and enjoy practical science lessons.
The Science Department have arranged an online talk to be streamed to some of their lessons, the “Medical Mavericks Human Guinea Pig Live” talk. This session highlights the different roles within the NHS focusing on those lesser known careers. Tom from Medical Mavericks shows the students different equipment used by professionals performing different procedures on himself.
The session is going to be delivered to Y10 (B side) on Thursday 9-10, and the all Y9s Thursday 10-11.

The British Science Week website has some interesting information here about smashing stereotypes in the science field.
For students who enjoy being creative, there is a poster competition to enter too!
