Educational Maintenance Allowance (EMA)

Manchester Health Academy continues to look after EVERY student within the sixth form through a £15 weekly EMA payment. In order to receive the weekly payment, students must ensure that they have been outstanding in the following areas:

• Punctuality
• Attendance
• Progress

We reward the two best students each week by paying an extra £10.

NB – Students only receive payment for the weeks they attend MHA and not for holiday periods.

There are no rules to stop students getting a part time job whilst at college. However, the job must not interfere with your studying.

A sixth form college can set their own criteria for students to be entitled to EMA, but the following are some of the expectations: excellent attendance, punctuality, effort, application and progress.
